Computer assisted paint matching

We use PPG Envirobase paint along with all compatible equipment and products.

Water based auto paint is different than traditional solvent-born in that it emits less VOC's as it dries.  VOC's, in a nut shell, are the chemicals that are released into the air while the paint dries.  Although water based paint has been around since the 1970's, the US has not had wide range success with the various water based lines until recently.  Today most cars leave the factory with water based paint, both domestic and foreign.

Over the past few years Anchor Auto Body tested various lines of water based paint, but we were not satisfied with the results.  In January 2009 we found what we were looking for and switched to PPG's Envirobase water-based base coat, making Anchor Auto Body one of the first shops to make the switch (water based doesn't become mandatory until 2011).  Since switching we have been very pleased with the product and are happy to be doing our part for the environment.

While the Envirobase line has great paint matching ability, we have gone one step further and acquired the Prophet II paint matching camera.  The Prophet II is second generation equipment that compares the color of your specific vehicle with a database of all of the original manufacturer paint formulas and their variants plus many custom formulas, guaranteeing the best paint match possible.
